Journey 1. Las Vegas, the Meadows back in the day.
What follows is a visual collection. Most of the pictures I took myself, there are some that are from the internet. What they all have in common is that they are reflections of my life. From my childhood to my current life. They may be in a sequence, based on a time or place or event of my life, or they may be mixed. These images are a journey of my life.
Sunset on Twain Avenue 1986. An end of an era, but I did not know so then.
Sigfried and Roy, before the accident, another end that changed Vegas forever
Redd Foxx
In 1986 I went to Las Vegas to live, I stayed for a little over a year. I had the chance to see the city before it changed, when people like Johnny Mathis and Jerry Lewis were still top entertainers, and when the city for the most part was safe to walk at night,
Stratosphere Casino 1986
Mr, Las Vegas, head of the MDA Labor day telethon for years. Jerry Lewis.
Englebert Humperdink one of the cleanest entertainers of old Vegas.
The Rat Pack one of 3
Las Vegas was significant to me, it was the first time I moved out to live interdependently, and succeeded even for a short term. I just wish that the city had not changed so drastically. However I know that change happens, for the good and bad. At least I saw it when it was still interesting.
